More information
The space
Winterwoods Retreat apartment is located in the basement of our home and has a separate driveway and entrance with lockbox key access. Although it is a basement apartment it has an egress window which brings in lots of natural light and the space is a brand new (built 2018), dedicated AirBnB space. It has one bedroom with a queen sized bed, a coffee corner with microwave, mini fridge and coffee and tea makers. You'll be greeted with a refreshment basket of locally crafted coffee, snacks as well as organic loose tea made by our Spokane owned tea company, Winterwoods Tea Company. In addition to the bedroom there is also a large living room with a sofa bed with a Memory Foam queen mattress, a large bathroom with standup shower and a cozy wood stove with firewood. This beautiful and relaxing space is perfect for families with young children or couples looking for a restful getaway.

Guest access
Private entrance with keypad lock and separate driveway.
Interaction with guests
If we are in town we will be available to answer any questions you may have or assist with anything you need such as starting a fire in the woodstove. If we are out of town we will be easy to access through text messages.
Other things to note
Winterwoods Retreat is under our family's main living space. Although we aim to provide a restful and peaceful environment for our guests you may hear muffled footsteps from above similar to what you would expect from an apartment living situation.
We are close to popular Greenbluff (5 miles), an association a small family farms and food stands. Seasonal activities include pick your own fruit and annual festivals. Greenbluff is a wonderful place to take family, kids or out of town guests. Each farm has something a little bit different, so be sure to wander and explore… There are also a couple of wineries including the Barn at Trezzi, Townsend wine tasting and a couple breweries, "238" and "Big Barn Brewery". There are many gift shops as well with on some of the farms. Greenbluff is also home to many wedding venues.

Guesthouse Nypugardar in Vatnajokull Glacier, Iceland

Having feasted on tender smoked lamb for Christmas dinner, walk it off through the snow-covered Icelandic pastures around this remote working sheep farm. From here, you can see nothing but Icelandic wilderness, the Hornafjördur Fjord and Iceland’s highest mountain, Hvannadalshnjúk, in the background. The light before sunset is the most hypnotic, when golden hour makes the farmhouse’s red corrugated roof glow orange and the snow light up a lilac hue.

The Beach House in Hampshire, UK

This beachside Victorian mansion in Milford on Sea is homely yet grand; a particularly lovely place to spend Christmas. Wake up in a pastel-painted bedroom to views across the sea to the Isle of Wight and The Needles, before a relaxing soak in your free-standing copper bath tub. And after gorging on the hotel’s highly-recommended Christmas dinner, guests can play a game of scrabble or chess in front of a log fire in the wood-panelled living room

idade De Goa in North Goa, India

A cubist, terracotta and burnt umber resort built in the 80s to resemble a Portuguese-style village, Cidade de Goa is one of only a few properties located right on Goa’s Vainguinim beach; though the architecture is dated, the occasional chipped tile or painted wall has added plenty of character. With bedrooms that face the Arabian Sea, you can smell a fresh, salty breeze and hear the crashing waves from your tropically-coloured suite. And the spread prepared for the Christmas dinner is lavish, featuring Goan seafood dishes and lashings of coconut.

Coogee Pavilion in Sydney

Adored by locals, ‘The Pav’ was designed to look like a Victorian botanist’s conservatory. Think dramatically flowering plants, anatomical drawings, industrial furnishings and gorgeous views of the Coogee coastline. The bar is stocked with an impressive collection of local beers but it’s the elaborate cocktails (specifically The Pink Flamingo) that will keep you coming back for more. Make The Pav your local and stay next door at the Coogee Sands Ho
tel.

The Island Rooftop in Surfers’ Paradise

Soaked in the laid-back atmosphere Surfers’ Paradise is known for, The Island Rooftop serves up endless pitchers of icy beer. Fresh lobster rolls and wood oven pizzas will set you up well for a night of live music and laughter beneath strings of gently twinkling fairy-lights. And when your eyes start closing, it’s only one flight of stairs down to the equally stunning Islan
d Gold Coast hotel.

Australia’s best rooftop bars /Zeta Bar in Sydney

The old-world Zeta Bar at Hilton Sydney fuses traditional decor and cutting-edge mixology. Soft leather sofas, open fireplaces and low-lighting create the perfect atmosphere for sipping on one of the ‘culinary cocktails’. Favourites include the Wake & Flake (a refreshing gin cocktail served with cornflake syrup and a cornflake rim) and La Carbonara (bacon-infused rye and vermouth, served with a side of bacon).
