The Statue of Liberty, located on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, is an iconic symbol of freedom and democracy. It was a gift from France to the United States and was dedicated on October 28, 1886. Designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, the statue stands at 305 feet (93 meters) tall, including the pedestal, and is made of copper sheets held together by an iron framework.


Lady Liberty holds a torch in her right hand, representing enlightenment, and a tablet in her left hand inscribed with the date of America's Declaration of Independence. The statue's crown features seven rays, symbolizing the seven continents. Visitors can ascend to the crown for breathtaking views of New York City.


Over the years, the Statue of Liberty has welcomed countless immigrants arriving in the United States, becoming a symbol of hope and new beginnings. In 1984, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today, it remains one of the most recognized landmarks in the world, attracting millions of visitors annually who come to admire its majestic presence and historical significance.
